Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of music do you play?
Our musical repertoire consists mostly of the classical genre ranging from pieces like Pachelbel's Canon in D to Bach's Brandenburg Concertos. We also play any selection of hymns and a wide variety of fiddle/folk songs.
Do you take requests?
Yes, although if they are unusual requests, we may need 2-3 weeks advanced notice.
How much do you charge?
Obviously costs may vary depending on location, occasion, and length of time spent playing. For a typical wedding ceremony we would charge around $300-$350 which would include thirty minutes of prelude background music as well as whatever is needed during the ceremony, and each additional hour would be around $100.
Are you only available as a quartet?
No, we can also perform as a violin trio or duo! As our musical repertoire would be somewhat smaller without a cellist, we would also charge less while performing as a smaller group.
Do you play outdoors?
Yes! Although it's too cold to play outside in the winter, we play outdoors for any events in the summer, as long as we are provided with sun and rain protection.
What do you need to play?
We need a flat area with plenty of space (at least a 8x8ft area) and adequate lighting, as well as sun and rain protection if we are playing outside. We provide our own music stands and chairs!
